IT Ministry working to make a Digital Pakistan: Anusha Rahman

NEWS DESK – Government of Pakistan in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology was working to make a digital Pakistan as digital economy through information technology. Freelancing work, mobile apps and ecommerce was the future of Pakistan.

On Tuesday, This was stated by Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rahman Ahmad Khan in third ICT Award (Information Communication Technology Award) ceremony held at local hotel organized by Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).

She said that Pakistan had achieved remarkable achievements and his goals in the field of IT. We were 3% on broadband penetration in 2014 but now it has increased and jumped up to 27%. Pakistan recently won GSMA award and ranked on No 3, in Asia.

The IT ministry was already working on testing of 5G after successful launching of 3g and 4g in Pakistan, being the first country in Asia, she added. 

Earlier, awards distributing ceremony held and the minister distributed awards among the companies including Telenor Pakistan, Pakistan Ordinance Factory, Rescue 1122, NetSol Technologies Inc., Trillium Information Security Systems, Shifa International Hospital Ltd and others.

Mayor Rawalpindi city Sardar Naseem, Chairman PTA Ismail Shah, MD Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), CEOs of leading IT and Telecom companies, IT officials, government officials and members of the RCCI Executive Committee were also present on the occasion
