MDCAT test 2017 for getting admission in Medical Colleges and Universities

UHS is the medical university and designated body to conduct the entrance admission tests for admission in the medical colleges in Punjab. MDCAT (Medical & Dental College Admission Test) is the test which is compulsory test taken by UHS for getting admission in any private or government sector medical or dental college or university. Every year more than 55 thousand students apply for MCAT Test
conducted by UHS (University of Health Sciences).For taking MDCAT test students are required to fulfill UHS requirements and pass the MDCAT Entry Test 2017 and hence after passing entry test they can easily get admission in their desired government or private sector medical institutions.
The date , syllabus and other details about the tests are also given along with the syllabus, so that the students can prepare well for the examination. Both the syllabus and the pattern of MDCAT Entry Test 2017 are available on the website of UHS www.uhs.edu.pk.The candidates must look at the syllabus carefully in order to solve and pass the paper successfully.
MCAT entry test for getting admission in the medical institues in Islamabad usually held under the supervision of Federal Ministry of Health. The provincial government of every province punjab, sindh, kpk and baluchistan is responsible to hold MDCAT entrance test in their respective provinces.
MDCAT test scores in Pakistan
Every year UHS conducted MCAT entrance test for getting admission in both government and private sector medical and dental colleges & universities.
MCAT is a test which comprises of 220 MCQs from four major subjects (English, Physics, Chemistry,Biology). The time period for attempting this entrance test is 2 hours and 30 minutes (Total time=150 minutes).
Each question in the test carrying 5 marks which makes the total of 1100 marks. Every correct answer in the test scores carrying 5 marks whereas every wrong answer scores a negative mark and 06 mark deducted for wrong answer.The overall test comprises of 30 multiple choice questions from English, 88 from Biology, 58 from Chemistry, and 44 form Physic.
MCAT is held every year in August but after leaking scam of paper, now UHS re-conducted entrance test on 29th October, while UHS announces its result after one week of conducting test.
How to Calculate Merit (Forumula for Merit Calculation)
The merit would be calculated according to the rules of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and shall be based on the total percentage of applicants , adding the marks in the following ratio:
Matric (SSC or Equivalent): 10 %
HSSC / F.Sc (Pre-medical or Equivalent): 40 %
MCAT test: 50 %
